Our events are typically two hours long and involve lots of drinking, painting, laughter, and a jolly good time! Château des Charmes was founded in 1978 by Paul Bosc, a fifth generation French winegrower. Paul and his young family arrived in Niagara in the 1960’s with the idea that growing our own grapes was the best way to make fine wine. More than ever, we believe in this Estate Winery model and we make our wine only from grapes we’ve grown ourselves. In 1994 Château des Charmes opened its new state-of-the-art winery and visitor centre. It was immediately hailed as an agri-tourism landmark. It was the first winery in Ontario purpose-built with the visitor in mind. This was long before there was a Wine Route or a winery tourism buisness model. Paul's vision of a world class Niagara wine industry led by high quality estate wineries has reached fruition. Today, the vibrant Ontario industry boasts more than 150 wineries, employs more than 6000 people and receives approximately 1 million visitors each year. www.chateaudescharmes.com
Jessica has lived the arts close to her heart since childhood. While she enjoyed other art forms such as playing the piano or her skillful salsa steps, it was always painting that grounded her. Jessica has found solace from the day to day routine of life whenever she comes face to face with the endless possibilities afforded by a blank canvas. "Painting should be fun, relaxing and stress relieving" she'll tell you. It's that motto that has fueled her over the years, and it's the same motto that guides her today. Inspired by the colourful paintings of Native Canadian artist Norval Morrisseau, Jessica loves to paint bright and colourful scenes that uplift the spirit and invigorate the mind. It's about harnessing that positive energy and having fun with it. Even in a couple of hours, it's amazing how you can shed the stresses of everyday life and embrace the same care-free idealism Jessica finds every time she puts brush to canvas. Jessica is very excited to be part of the Paint Nite family helping spread the love and joy of painting throughout the region of Niagara!
