About the cause

Team 6461 Iron Stallions is a member of the First Robotics Organziation. It is made of Team members who belong to FE Madill and are in grade 7-12. This involves a 6 week build period where they design, build and program the robot. After the build period they are entered into 2 competitions. \\\\nThe goal of First Robotics is to inspire young people into the roles of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) by competing in competitions that will challenge them to become their best. This is done by going to the competitions where they will not only compete against like minded competitors but help and be helped so everyone can compete at their best. How a competition works is each team works collaboratively with 2 other teams that form an alliance. There are tasks that have to be performed in order to end up with the highest points. As an alliance the teams work together to complete these tasks. \\\\nRobotics is not just STEM, but also business and another way to be part a school team. \\\\n

Your host

After hosting Paint Nite events for several years Janet is thrilled to be bringing Plant Nite to Kitchener Waterloo her new home town. Janet grew up on a farm and loves the outdoors, she spent many summers learning how to garden with her Great Aunt and has recently started teaching her own daughter how to garden in their new backyard! Having studied Art Therapy and Human Services Janet is a fan of bringing people together and offering a creative outlet to the community, adding a drink or two to the mix is an added bonus.
