About the venue: Since Memories Charcoal House opened in 1994, our policy has been to provide the community and our regulars with great food, good times, and to be casually entertaining. On January 1st, of 2009 two of Memories long-time employees, Andrea Harding and Jon Speiser, purchased Memories from their previous employer with the idea of preserving Memories tradition of customer loyalty and community atmosphere. We currently boast record sales, backed up by a new menu, renovations, and and a steady stream of fresh weekly menu specials. Community outreach has been the focus of our new business model. We currently host a different charity event every month with 10% of our daily sales donated back to the community. These events, coupled with the sponsoring of multiple local youth sports organizations and individual teams, has established Memories as a Community Restaurant that benchmarks and maintains standards not only in our establishment but in the community as well. ~ Jon Speiser President, Memories Charcoal House, Inc.
Jess is a graphic designer and painter who has been doing freelance design and painting for over 13 years. She grew up outside of Reading Pennsylvania and moved to Maryland to attend Towson University. After graduating at the top of her class in 2006 with a degree in Visual Communications, she moved on to several graphic design jobs in the Baltimore area. In the past 2-3 years she has pulled back from design a bit to focus more time on her pet portrait paintings, teaching painting, and her 2.5 year old daughter, Riley. Throughout her entire experience as a designer, she has always continued creating works of art through her acrylic paintings. She joined the Paint Nite team to spread her love for creativity and making others happy! Her favorite slogan is life's like tequila....take it with a grain of salt. When she's not painting, you can find her playing with her daughter and hanging out at home with her hubby and 2 crazy boston terriers. Jess is an avid animal lover and loves painting pet portraits in her free time if she has any. Hiking and traveling are also a few of her favorite things.
