Corey Hagberg has been enamored with the creative process and art since a very young age. At age 5 his family moved to California and he became fascinated and swept up by the culture of Skateboarding which introduced him to his earliest memorable artistic inspiration; Santa Cruz skateboard graphics. This lead to a lifestyle that is embodied in his artwork to this day. CoreyGraduated from Northern Illinois University in 2005 with a BFA emphasis in painting and also has a degree in graphic design. His work touches on a variety of social issues, interweaving a whimsical dark brand of comedy through out. He uses a mixture of screen printing, photo transfers, graphic design, drawing, spray paint, collage and other traditional painting methods to create his finished studio work and also creates large scale murals. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in NYC, Chicago, LA, Philadelphia, San Fransisco, Miami, Berlin, London, Portland, and many others as well his current city of Rockford Illinois. He also has traveled to some of those same cities creating mural work and collaborating with different artists as part of the En Masse Collective. Originally an art education major, Corey has also taught classes and project based lessons for art's councils, libraries, after school and summer programs throughout the region.
