After graduating Ivy completed an intensive international Fashion Design program at the JA College of Design in Ghana, where she focused on African textiles and Batik techniques. Ivy works across many mediums and has mentored and taught in the United States and abroad in Ghana and India.
She is an active advocate for the arts in the community, teaching various workshops and studio art classes to youth and adults of all ages. She enjoys collaborative works as it enables her creativity to fuse the melting pot while contributing to the bigger picture. At the MFA Ivy is the Community Arts Liaison for the Dorchester Boys and Girls Club and an instructor in the Artful Adventures program.
Ivy founded her creative company Eye Designs in 2008 while she was in college after she decided to share her artistic ideas in a new and creative way with friends. She began by commissioning custom designed artwork, including murals, and African Inspired Pop up shops in her early years as an artist. From those days she expanded to offering private Paint Parties while her company brings all of the supplies to help you and your guests create a unique and personal piece of art as a keepsake.
