I am a Teacher and I work with Deaf and hard of hearing students. I am a mom to an amazing autistic teenage daughter. I am an artist. I studied at Madonna University in Michigan. I am a modern contemporary artist. I like working with mixed medium. I like to let the canvas speak to me, connect with my emotions. I like to let the fluidity of the lines express themselves and insert the colours that emulate how it makes me feel and hopefully connect with those they see my art. Art touched the soul and leave an impression that is unique to each individual. There is no wrong in art often the mistakes were meant to happen; they fit the canvas and speak boldly. I like to host art that helps us heal or inspire to create as an outlet for our emotions. There should never be a rush to start, but a continuum to keep building until the canvas speaks no more. Sometimes I let the silence of my own deafness seep into my work, let the language in my hands speak out or sometimes something in nature takes hold and pushes forth to be put on the canvas. Sometimes we are inspire by a movie, a poem, a dream or just a word. I like to have people take a moment and look within to see what they feel at that moment and see it the canvas speaks of the same feelIng. Other times I will suggest if you’re stuck and can’t connect, to pick up the brush, start with a colour that evokes a feeling. Look at the colour and see if an image comes to mind. Sometime just exploring with colour for a background helps bring forth what you’d like to see in come to life on the canvas.
