Design a Sign: Make a custom wood sign

Join #TeamHappyTrees for Design a Sign! No experience required! Design a Sign lets you make wood wall art that showcases your personal style. Choose from hundreds of stencils that are as unique as you are, and then build and paint your one-of-a-kind sign. Whether rustic or modern or a little bit of both, your finished wood wall art can add a pop of color to a room, make a perfect housewarming gift, or jazz up your otherwise ho-hum office space.

Come out early to enjoy a meal before we get started.   You can secure your seats 15 minutes before start time, especially if part of a large group. Food and drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside food and drink are not allowed - NO BYOB. Events are for adults, 21+ only. Help keep your artist from becoming a starving one--tips are appreciated!

Your location

Teaism (Penn Quarter)

Teasim, a collection of Asian-inspired teahouses that infuse the cultures of tea and the ideals of teaism with the informality and casualness of America, A collection of critically acclaimed restaurants that produce simple foods from the cuisines of tea, Bento boxes from Japan, curries from Thailand, and tandoor breads from India. A collection of tea shops with an abundance of tea accessories and exhibitions of work by local potters and artists. A tea seller with a constantly updated inventory of over three dozen teas that represent the best of what is available and a belief that selecting, serving, and selling tea is art and love not just commerce.  Why?  A desire to share our discovery of the richness and complexity of the tea leaf. A response to the corruption of tea, the style above substance and the use of tea bags in American offerings. An alternative to the obfuscation, over-formalizaiton, and xenophobia of traditional Asian and English tea houses. Directions: On the corner of 8th and D Streets NW. Visible from the Archives/Navy Memorial metro stop. Parking garage on 8th Street and metered street parking. Metro accesible.
