About SABIEN T. WILLIS       I hail from the great industrial steel mill small city of Gary, Indiana just outside of Chicago. It is also the home of the late Michael Jackson & the Jackson 5. My love for art inspired by my Aunt who also paints, started at a very early age. My Father who was a Peanuts and Mighty Thor fan turned me unto movies, comics and all things cartoons. After an amazing family vacation to Walt Disney World one summer, I knew THIS was where I wanted to live and work. Consistently sharpening my gift to draw, my mother enrolled me into a special educational talent program called Emerson School for the Visual and Performing Arts. Shortly graduating from high school an opportunity arose to participate on The Disney College program working under the Walt Disney Company name as an Attractions Host. I jumped at the chance. It was truly life changing. Passionately networking and staying in practice of my art skill eventually landed me in another open position as an Onstage Disney Feature Animation Artist at Hollywood Studios on the Magic of Disney Animation Tour. While finishing up my A.S. Degree in Commercial Art at Orlando College, I was both often heading from one class room setting to a stage room setting to entertain hundreds of Disney guests. I was there to facilitate while demonstrating how to draw our Disney characters from such films as Mulan, Hercules, Tarzan, Lilo & Stitch and many more. A huge part of my painting life stems later from becoming a Professional Face Painter, Caricature Artist, Muralist, Illustrator for children books and my own upcoming comic book novel “The Sinju Knights.” I hope the life experiences I've had as an artist will transpire & encourage the ARTIST in You.
