Music and Movement
Need a break and some entertainment for the kids while home? Or looking for something fun to do together? This is just the ticket!
One ticket per family!
Through a combination of classic and modern children’s songs and stories, your child will participate in a marvelous mixture of movement, rhythm and fun! Laura combines storytelling and music while playing guitar, ukulele, and other instruments thus creating an interactive and joyful experience. Your child will be invited to join in with active participation and their rhythm instruments (whether shakers or pots and pans from the kitchen). We may take a trip to the jungle, the farm, or even outer space! This event is lots of fun for kids of all ages ...even parents!
As a former Preschool Director, Teacher and Mother I have learned that the most important thing to remember about children and their development is that “Play is the work of the Child.” I have been providing participatory music and stories to children and their grown-ups for over 30 years.
By creating a fun, engaging musical/movement journey, (one on one or with groups of over 1000 people) I enjoy spreading musical joy. Presenting at numerous educational workshops throughout the South, I have worked and shared this love of music with teachers and educators and given them the tools to make the jump and add music to their classrooms.
I sing and play the guitar, ukulele and rhythm instruments. Through a combination of classic and modern children’s songs, games and stories, your child will enjoy a marvelous mixture of movement, rhythm and enthusiasm in a joyful and active experience.
I currently provide music and movement programs to Schools and Camps in North East Georgia. Whether ‘Walking Through the Jungle’, singing about Pizza or on a Story Scavenger Hunt we are playing (working) with gusto. I look forward to sharing a love of music and oral tradition with you and your children.
MUSIC! I am passionate about music and love sharing it with folks of all ages. It all started when my Mother began taking piano lessons while pregnant with me. Music became a part of who I am. I’ve been making music one way or another as far back as I can remember. Taking what I love and making it a career has been glorious. Performing and sharing many genres of music ranging from Pop, Renaissance Festivals, Folk, Americana, KID’S music and Standards has made me a well-rounded musician. I have spent my musical career singing and playing music throughout the Southeast in various formations. Rock/Americana/Folk bands as the lead singer and acoustic guitar player, Children’s Music as a Storyteller and Singer of Songs, and as a Sing A Long song leader in Senior communities and facilities. I am having fun making music and that transfers to those who are listening and participating. Everyone is invited to be a part of the show whether an adult event with added music trivia, a kids event with movement and rhythm or a senior show with voices joining in and people dancing.
