While I grew up on Long Island, I am a New England girl at heart! I studied painting and art history at Boston University where I received my BFA in 2013 and MA in Studio Teaching in 2014. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to study abroad in Venice, Italy, where I was able to foster my love of landscape painting and pizza! I am currently an elementary school art teacher in Franklin, MA and feel like the luckiest person alive to have found a career that combines all of my favorite things! Art has been my passion since as long as I can remember. While other kids my age were glued to their Gameboys or watching Nickelodeon cartoons, I could be found doodling in my Lisa Frank notebook or copying the latest VHS cover of my favorite Disney movie. I was also found once with a crayon mural all over my bedroom wall, and another time with a pair of scissors and a stylish new haircut... Oops! Lucky for me I grew up with awesome parents who welcomed by creativity and encouraged my path to art school. Today I can be found doing similar things, this time copying techniques and styles from some of my favorite artists to make my own paintings. I enjoy watercolor painting and experimenting with collage techniques. I love the idea that Paint Nite allows people to feel free to become comfortable with styles and techniques inspired from an example painting, while at the same time leaving plenty of room for creativity, socializing and drinking... Cheers!
