The Uno story begins in Chicago in 1943 when Ike Sewell developed deep dish pizza and opened a new type of restaurant at the corner of Ohio Wabash. It was here that Ike served a pizza unlike any that had been served before. Buttery out-of-this-world crust that had a tall edge like a fruit pie. He created a recipe that combined authentic Italian spices and quality tomatoes with more cheese than people could believe and then baked it for nearly an hour. When people tasted it, they wanted more of the same and the lines have been forming ever since to get into the restaurant. Today, Uno still draws its identity and inspiration from the artisan heritage of the original. Each restaurant still makes their deep dish pizza dough fresh every morning. With the times, Uno is adjusting its menu to how people want to live their lives. It will always be about amazing flavor and wonderful menus that have the right balance between indulgent treats and delicious and nutritious choices. In this way our guests can enjoy Uno in a way that fits their mood and lifestyle and that of their families when and where it makes sense. It's all about them and we get that.
It was when she moved from Long Island, NY to Baltimore, MD 8 years ago, that the full artistic side would emerge. Looking to learn about and she the new city she had moved to Elyse made it her mission to try EVERYTHING on Groupon....Sushi Rolling, Glass blowing and yes ...PAINT NITE!! It is there where she fell in love with Drinking Creatively. Her love of wine (obsession) , meeting new people and being creative was exactly what she was looking for. With no prior painting experience (only if you count finger painting as a kid) , Elyse dove in head first and is a true example that you CAN paint if you let your inner creativity take over and learn from the all the artists at the events. After attending numerous events (paint nite stalker), the Licensee asked if she would consider working as an assistant. After few months later she was asked if she would like to become his area manager. Paint Nite was exciting, fun and creative...exactly what she was looking for. Wanting to make Paint Nite her full time job (take over her life lol) Elyse became a licensee of Dayton, OH , Eastern Shore, MD and Baltimore, MD. It is not often you will catch her teaching an event but it is a SHOW if you are lucky to. When she's not painting, you can find her hanging with her daughter and dog.
