About the venue: Since Memories Charcoal House opened in 1994, our policy has been to provide the community and our regulars with great food, good times, and to be casually entertaining. On January 1st, of 2009 two of Memories long-time employees, Andrea Harding and Jon Speiser, purchased Memories from their previous employer with the idea of preserving Memories tradition of customer loyalty and community atmosphere. We currently boast record sales, backed up by a new menu, renovations, and and a steady stream of fresh weekly menu specials. Community outreach has been the focus of our new business model. We currently host a different charity event every month with 10% of our daily sales donated back to the community. These events, coupled with the sponsoring of multiple local youth sports organizations and individual teams, has established Memories as a Community Restaurant that benchmarks and maintains standards not only in our establishment but in the community as well. ~ Jon Speiser President, Memories Charcoal House, Inc.
It was when she moved from Long Island, NY to Baltimore, MD 8 years ago, that the full artistic side would emerge. Looking to learn about and she the new city she had moved to Elyse made it her mission to try EVERYTHING on Groupon....Sushi Rolling, Glass blowing and yes ...PAINT NITE!! It is there where she fell in love with Drinking Creatively. Her love of wine (obsession) , meeting new people and being creative was exactly what she was looking for. With no prior painting experience (only if you count finger painting as a kid) , Elyse dove in head first and is a true example that you CAN paint if you let your inner creativity take over and learn from the all the artists at the events. After attending numerous events (paint nite stalker), the Licensee asked if she would consider working as an assistant. After few months later she was asked if she would like to become his area manager. Paint Nite was exciting, fun and creative...exactly what she was looking for. Wanting to make Paint Nite her full time job (take over her life lol) Elyse became a licensee of Dayton, OH , Eastern Shore, MD and Baltimore, MD. It is not often you will catch her teaching an event but it is a SHOW if you are lucky to. When she's not painting, you can find her hanging with her daughter and dog.
