Katia Zhestkova is a Russian born artist who received her training in painting and fashion design in Moscow. She came to Alaska in 1994, fell in love with the majestic scenery of the state, and spent two years studying silk painting as well as painting landscapes. Katia continued her studies at Xavier University, receiving her MBA degree in Marketing, and worked several years for advertising agencies as an art director, creating marketing materials for major corporations. She has been freelancing as an illustrator and has been painting for many years. Katia has participated in several local exhibits and she has numerous art works in private collections. Katia loves sharing her passion for art with people and she encourages them to step out of their comfort zone and experience the exciting process of painting.
