Morgan’s Pier is named after George C. Morgan, a construction worker on the Benjamin Franklin Bridge 85 years ago, who is credited as being the first person to cross the bridge. He defied his boss' orders and shimmied across the wires before the deck was completed. Each season, Morgan’s Pier, Philadelphia’s seasonal backyard beer garden along the Delaware River Waterfront, invites a different celebrated chef to take over the kitchen with their own version of a chef-hosted backyard barbecue, allowing a larger population of Philadelphia and its visitors to enjoy the casual cuisine while soaking up the outdoors and its scenery just steps from the Ben Franklin Bridge. This season, our Chef-in-Residence is Adam Lazarick.
A long time resident and artist of the Philadelphia area, I bring years of experience in art appreciation and teaching to Paint Nite. With a degree in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of Philadelphia and many years running the Art In Action program in the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District --create is what I do. I love seeing creativity come out of others and enjoy sharing techniques with those that are receptive. Paint Nite is a wonderful platform for people of all experience levels and I am excited to be a part of it! I live with my Chihuahua in Chadds Ford, PA where I love to plein air paint the Southern Chester County landscape. Painting in Longwood Gardens is also a favorite hot spot of mine.
