The Original Paint Nite: Unleash your inner artist

Join #TeamHappyTrees for #PaintNiteDC!

No experience required! Just follow along while our Social Painting Instructor guides you step-by-step through the featured painting in about two hours. If you’re feeling creative, change the colors to suit your décor or go completely rogue. We provide all the painting supplies: a 16”x20” canvas, acrylic paint, brushes, smock, music, and a good time.

Come out early to enjoy a meal before we get started, just let them know you’re with Paint Nite. Secure your seats 15 minutes before start time, especially if part of a large group. Food and drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside food and drink are not allowed - NO BYOB. Events are for adults, 21+ only.

Help keep your artist from becoming a starving one--tips are appreciated!

Your location

Hula Girl Bar and Grill

Our cuisine is paired perfectly with a cocktail program compiled of handcrafted, modern Hawaiian drinks with a slight nod to our Tiki roots – all of which are meant to be approachable, fun, and local. Featuring traditional Hawaiian dishes, a uniquely designed space, Hula Girl Bar and Grill is excited to become part of the neighborhood. Sit back, relax and enjoy some ‘ono grindz’!

Your host

Emily is an architecture professional, humanitarian and designer working in the Washington DC area. She holds a BFA degree in Art (Visual Communications), a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture and did her Master's work in Healthcare Architecture at Clemson. Her extensive art background has led her to be involved in everything from community based art projects and theatrical set design to being a sketch artist on Archaeological Excavations abroad. Currently her favorite mediums include watercolors and oils, but she is equally as versed in printmaking and the digital arts.  When Emily isn't designing and planning hospitals, advocating for global health or traveling the globe, she enjoys teaching PaintNite! Also collecting typewriters, yoga and a glass of chardonnay. :) She is VERY excited to transfer her passion of expression in this medium to all of you artists out there (or aspiring ones!) and she looks forward to creating a memorable experience.   More information on Emily or to keep updated, visit: www.emilymcgowan.com instagram.com/_emily_azar_
