Amanda Kinser started her adventure in art as a toddler, drawing stick figures on her bedroom wall and letting the family dog take credit for it. A few masterpieces and "no more markers!" later, her parents enrolled her in a painting class at age five. She painted a vase of flowers on her very first day, and has not stopped painting since. In high school, she began assisting her long-time teacher in classes with younger students and gained a love for teaching. She began experimenting with multiple mediums, including ink, watercolor, charcoal, and acrylic. She attended college at Virginia Tech to study Studio Art for a while, until she ultimately chose to pursue a Masters degree in Family and Consumer Science Education. In 2011, she was placed in Roanoke for an internship and never left. Amanda now spends her days encouraging creativity in Roanoke's youth as a high school teacher. A child at heart, she spends her evenings escaping the responsibilities of adulthood by drawing, painting, and cuddling with her dog (not at the same time).
She was fabulous! I love how encouraging she was with the kids and explained everything very clearly. My kids LOVED it!
Very fun and upbeat, she had some good tips and tricks
Went really fast. I thought we were using brushes and we used paper towels and that technique was not explained clearly.
