FAQ’s
The best way to learn floral design depends on your
learning style and preferences. We recommend:
● Hands-on workshops and classes
● Online courses and tutorials
● Books and magazines
● Practicing and experimenting
● Observing and studying floral arrangements.
Remember, you can try multiple classes to learn
different styles and techniques.
Some general tips for arranging flowers include:
● Soak them in water for a few hours to help them stay
hydrated.
● Remove any leaves or thorns below the vase's water
line to prevent bacteria growth.
● Cut the stems of the flowers at an angle so they can
easily absorb water.
● Arrange the flowers by height, with the tallest
flowers in the center.
● Mix with different textures and colors to create
visual interest.
● Use filler flowers and greenery to add volume and
texture.
● Change the water in the vase every two days. Use
lukewarm water and add flower food where possible.
● Trim the stems of the flowers about 1-2 centimeters
every two days.
● Keep the arrangement away from direct sunlight, heat
sources, and drafts.
● Remove any wilted or yellowing flowers from the
arrangement.
● Keep the flowers in a cool room, if possible.
● Mist the flowers with water to keep them hydrated
and fresh.
● Wash the vase with warm soapy water and let it air
dry before using it again.
A well-cared-for flower arrangement can last anywhere from a few days to a week (sometimes more), with roses, ranunculus, lilies and carnations typically lasting the longest. Something like tulips, however, will last roughly five days.
The main priorities are ensuring the vase is tightly
secured by placing it on a flat surface or tying it
with seat belts or straps.
You also should avoid extreme temperatures and keep
the car cool.
We ask for at least three weeks' notice, so your event coordinator has time to ship all the supplies. But, if you do find yourself in a pinch, simply contact our team for viable options. This goes for online classes and face-to-face events.
Picking a good place to arrange flowers starts with
the size of your group and the desired atmosphere. You
could use a private event space at a bar or
restaurant, a community center, your workplace, or
someone’s home.
Of course, you and your guests can be anywhere for
online classes. Just make sure you have space to lay
out your stems.
"Private event" is the term we use for a private
booking, not from our public events calendar on
PaintNite.com. This could be an intimate celebration,
office team building or a way to welcome new hires.
We offer a wide selection of in-person events, hybrid
and virtual events for all occasions.
"Private party" is our name for pretty much any non-business event. For example, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, family reunions...any time you have something to celebrate (or even if you don't!).
A corporate event is any type of work gathering. For
example, team-building events, training days,
orientations for new hires, educational workshops,
networking events or office parties.
Providing corporate event entertainment for team
bonding and team-building events is what we do most
often. They aid in building effective teams and
improving the team's cohesion and performance.
These events can be different things like workshops,
motivational speakers or activities that encourage
teamwork and communication. The purpose is to help
team members get to know each other better, build
trust and work more effectively.
You can reach us through multiple avenues, depending on what’s easiest for you. You can email groups@yaymaker.com, fill out an intake form or call (855) 767-4270 and hit * 3 for private events.
